With the Delano Hotel, Ian Schrager redefined
"chic" on Ocean Drive. The omnipresent
cool white is so elegant and impressive that many
hotel designers all over the globe used it as
an inspiration. At the Delano, Philippe Starck
had full control over the design and the result
is pure eyecandy. The astounding indoor/outdoor
lobby is the first eyecatcher - this cathedral-like
area gives the first impression of what the Delano
is. The Delano features a large pool surrounded
by bungalows, probably the most popular rooms
at the Delano - once you've spent an afternoon
at the pool here, you'll understand why. But the
206 regular rooms and suites are also outstanding
design highlights: the cool, relaxing white can
be found in all rooms, broken only by soft grey
and peach hues. The amenities are top-notch: marble
bathrooms, minibar, Bose sound- system and a level
of comfort matched only by a handful of other
hotels. The Delano was voted "America's coolest
hotel" by Vogue magazine, and the restaurants
have an important part in that. Fancy "Blue
Door" gourmet restaurant serves an international
cuisine you can also enjoy on the terrace in front
of the hotel. Also available at the Delano: the
Agua Spa on the rooftop, offering both relaxation
treatments and a great beach view, as well as
the David Barton gym for cardio fitness. The Delano
- one of the most stylish hotels around the globe.
Even if you´re not staying here, we'd recommend
a visit for dinner or a drink just to check out
the atmosphere!
