The Komet Bar is located directly opposite Hamburg's "most sinful" part - from the bar, you are looking at the steel gates that mark the entrance to Herbertstraße, the street that only men have access to... the bar is small, but welcoming and easygoing - not stylish but more punkrock, and that goes for the music as well. The Komet Bar is a classical rock/independent bar, so don't expect high heels and house beats here. The atmosphere is good though, and after 10.30 at night when the bar fills with people it's always worth a stop on a tour of St. Pauli - definitely not a tourist trap but authentic Pauli-style.
